Internet Advertising

So you have a website - how do you promote it?

Well the first way of promoting your site is by your standard literature (ie business cards, leaflets etc).

The next way is by paying for online advertising. This falls into two main categories - directory style advertising and general advertising.

Firstly then, the directory style advertising. There are various internet directories that you can advertise on. Probably the most famous is Yell.com which is part of Yellow Pages. Other more local directories include Norfolk Broads and Bestof. Which ones will work for your company depends very much on your sector.

The other style of advertising is advertising via Google or other search engines. Google advertising is done via adwords - you can choose to advertise purely on Google sites or you can actually choose the sites that you want your advert to appear. One big advantage of advertising this way is it can be a lot lower cost. Traditionally this is also known as pay per click - as you only pay for the advert once someone has clicked on to your site via the advert.

You can spend exactly how much you want to - from 10p per click though to over £10 per click depending on your industry and where you want to appear. For more information about Adwords click here.
